Production Supervisor

Reporting:  The production supervisor reports directly to the Production Manager and works in the Production Department.
  1. Production Supervisor Responsibilities and Expectations:
•    Supervise activities of assigned staff.
•    Knowledgeable of function and performance levels of all equipment, except AOI and SMT equipment. Can operate equipment in order to demonstrate its function, to train staff, to run production and to make complicated equipment adjustments.
•    Knowledge of and compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. employee handbook, safety policies, etc.).
•    Make recommendations to improve or modify existing processes or methods to prevent production delays and to increase production efficiency.
•    Communicate clearly and effectively throughout the organization for the purpose of meeting production schedules.
•    Maintaining a positive employee relations environment and a clean/safe work environment.
•    Assist department management with projects as assigned.
•    Routinely confer with management regarding performance of assigned staff.
•    Authority to impose disciplinary actions in accordance with the company's employee handbook. Must review with Human Resources all recommendations of discipline.
•    Interact with customers on production related issues/concerns.
•    Back up Production Manager in Managing shipping of product to customers.
•    Verification of ESD heal and wrist strap sheet.
•    Ensure labor records are accurate within M2M.
     o    Time card to M2M verification.
•    Oversee and provide direction/instruction to assemblers and technicians.
     o    This includes:
          •    Not meeting est. time on traveler.
          •    Following shop rules.
          •    Offering suggestions to improve efficiency
          •    Correction of incorrect assembly techniques
•    Thorough knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment.
•    Must have knowledge of production scheduling and production operations.
•    Highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently.
•    Willing to put in extra time and effort to complete tasks when needed.
•    Must have strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
•    Must be able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and easily adapt to changing situations.
