- Read job cards to determine: job status, work authorization/limitations, estimate, description of problems and/or work scope - Test electro-mechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods (ac/dc)
- Disassemble equipment noting parts identification, configuration and condition
- Clean equipment assemblies as needed through various method and steps, including but not limited to parts washers, steam cleaners, glass and sand blasters, etc.
- Measure for and note proper replacement parts. Correctly requisition needed items, as approved by supervisor - Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electrical parts and assemblies, included but not limited to: brushes, bearings, brush holders, motor leads, gears, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, brakes, clutches, tachometers, fans, etc.
- Retest reassembled electro-mechanical equipment for proper output and/or operation as per company specifications
- Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis
- Operate specialized repair and testing equipment including but not limited to: test panels, surge testers, core loss testers, burnout ovens, bake ovens, cut off saws, grinders, drills, cranes, forklift trucks, torches, dip tank, VPI systems, etc.
- Observe all safety procedures and proper protective gear
- Keep work area clean and neat - Balance of various types of rotating equipment including but not limited to: fans, rotor, armatures, rolls, impellers, blowers, etc.
- Occasional work in Field Service department Job Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude - Ability to understand and retain various skill-related training and operational and safety procedures. Requirements:
- High school diploma, some technical or trade school or on the job training
- Able to work second shift
- Work varying shifts, weekends and holidays when required
- Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Work extended hours out of doors in a variety of weather conditions - Occasionally push and pull parts, keel and crouch
