 JOB SUMMARY:       Repair various electrical mechanical rotating equipment
  •  Read job cards to determine: job status, work authorization/limitations, estimate, description of problems and/or work scope.
  •  Test electro-mechanical rotating equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods (AC/DC)
  •  Disassemble equipment noting parts identification, configuration and condition
  •  Clean equipment assemblies as needed through various methods and steps, including but not limited to parts washers, steam    cleaners and sand blasters.
  •  Measure for and note proper replacement parts.  Correctly requisition needed items, as approved by supervisor.
  •  Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electrical parts and assemblies, included but limited to: brushes, bearings, brush  holders, motor leads, gears, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, brakes, clutches, tachometers, fans, etc.
  • Retest reassembly for proper output and/or operation as per RAM specifications
  •  Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis
  •  Operate specialized repair and testing equipment including but not limited to: test panels, surge testers, core loss testers, burnout ovens, bake ovens, cut off saws, grinders, drills, cranes, forklift trucks, torches, dip tank, VPI systems, etc.
  • Balance of various types of rotating equipment including but not limited to: fans, rotor, armatures, rolls, impellers, blowers, etc.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Skills, Abilities, Physical Requirements, etc.)
Passing the Bennett Mechanical Aptitude test
Passing the color deficiency test
Ability to understand and retain various skill related training and operational and safety procedures
REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, etc.)
High School diploma, some technical or trade school or on the job training
Work varying shifts, weekends and holidays when required
Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
Occasionally push and pull parts, kneel and crouch
Continuously stand and frequently walk
