The longest, continuously running forging operation in the USA and prestigiously the only TTX supplier to receive the SECO Award for 25 consecutive years is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join it's leadership team in Central PA.

Summary Function:
  • Provide technical leadership for the development and implementation of electrical engineering requirements for facility and equipment additions, alterations and improvements;
  • Develop, coordinate and review electrical engineering design requirements, provide specifications for procurement of project material and services;
  • Coordinate supervision of electrical equipment installation and startup; analyze major electrical equipment failures, recommend and implement corrective measures;
  • Keep informed of and apply latest advances in electrical technology.
Responsibilities:
    
  1. Provide engineering services for the development and implementation of electrical requirements for facility and equipment additions, alterations and improvements; provide electrical requirements, specifications and cost data for capital and expense projects in assigned areas; develop necessary concept and detail electrical design requirements, performance parameters, specifications and cost estimates; insure that sound economical engineering practices pertinent to electrical code requirements are adhered to.  
  2. Negotiate with manufactures, vendors and contractors for the supply of material, equipment and services in conjunction with the procurement department.  Authorize purchases and inspect material and equipment at supplier’s facilities or upon receipt to assure compliance with specifications.
  3. Coordinate installation of equipment with the construction supervisor and the Maintenance Manager, and participate in start-up activities.  Continually review project financial and physical status and keep supervisors informed.
  4. Develop short and long range capital requirements for the plant electrical distribution system.  Develop project concepts, performance specifications and cost estimates for capital budget preparation purposes.
  5. Provide technical analysis, recommendations and services to Maintenance Dept. for repair and/or correction of major electrical system equipment failures.  Provide technical information, advice and service to others within the division.
Qualifications Required (Education, Experiences, Skills, Certifications, etc.):

1.     Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required,  PE License preferred.
2.     Experience in a heavy industry of five years or more, preferably in a steel melting and forging environment.
3.     Experience working with and directing the activities of salaried and hourly employees in a union environment.  Must have good human relations skills.
4.     Experience in high and low voltage electrical power systems, applicable codes and safety practices.  Emphasis on high voltage being a requirement (47,000V AC and 250V DC).
5.     Experience, as a project leader, managing major maintenance and capital projects relating to electrical power systems.
