Compulsory Gymnastics Coach, Level 3-5 Competitive
Job Functions
  • Gymnastics coaches will be responsible for teaching groups of aspiring team gymnasts as young as 5 years old; assuring skills and drills are performed in a safe manner to ensure the effective development of the gymnasts to progress in their level and in the sport.  Will be required to safe-proof the gym area, instructing and demonstrating skills and abilities in gymnastics following dynamic lesson plans, and administering first aide if necessary.
  • At least one to two years of experience working with children in sports setting.  
  • Studies in child development, physical education, and/or courses in gymnastics are a plus.
  • A certification in coaching, first aid and CPR will also be needed.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of compulsory level gymnastics. 
  • Good interpersonal skills are required to communicate with parents, staff, and the general public.
  • A gymnastics coach must know competition requirements, will travel to team competitions, and oversee students competing in events.
  • Tolerance to noise, dust (due to flying white chalk) and chaos from many children performing stunts at the same time is required. 
  • Coaches must to pass a background check and applicable drug tests.
Physical Abilities
  • Gymnastics coaches may be required to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Strenuous physical activity may include climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, pulling and extensively reaching at heights above floor level.
  • Tumbling and other gymnastics activities may also be required.
